International moving service

From the initial survey to delivery at the new home, YourExpats coordinates the entire international move.

Moving insurance is included in the service. The employer can cover the costs, but the employee can also pay for the move. In either case, we find a suitable solution and provide the most competitive quote possible.

Short Answer

How does an international move work?

You share the route, moving date and initial details about your belongings. This is followed by an in-person or virtual survey, a quote and a personalised moving plan. To arrange the included insurance, the employee completes a full inventory list. We then coordinate the packing, transport, any customs formalities and delivery.

From departure to arrival

What’s included in our international moving service?

No two international moves are the same. That is why we tailor the service to the route, volume of belongings, schedule and personal circumstances. YourExpats coordinates the process and remains the central point of contact.

A tailored quote

How much does an international move cost?

The price depends on factors such as the volume, route, transport method, accessibility of both properties, any storage requirements and customs formalities. We therefore cannot provide a standard price until we have assessed your moving requirements.

After receiving your request, we arrange an in-person or virtual survey. We then find a suitable solution and provide the most competitive quote possible.

Who pays for the move?

This can be the employer, the employee or both parties together. The employer can also provide a fixed moving budget. This allows an organisation to offer practical support without automatically covering all the costs.

Documents and import requirements

Are there any customs formalities?

When moving within the European Union, personal household goods can usually be transported without a standard import declaration. Separate rules may apply to certain goods, such as vehicles, alcohol or tobacco.

Is the shipment coming from outside the EU? A customs declaration may be required. Under certain conditions, an exemption from import duties and taxes may be available when transferring your usual place of residence to the Netherlands. YourExpats coordinates the necessary steps with the moving partner and informs the employee which documents are required.

Choose the support you need

International move or complete relocation?

International moving covers the transport of furniture and personal belongings. Relocation is broader and also helps an employee settle into life in the Netherlands. Both services can be used separately or together.
