Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.yourexpats.nl

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you use it. The Gravatar service's privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

When uploading images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract all location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to have your name, email address and website stored in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter your information when you leave another comment. These cookies remain valid for one year.

When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you login, we will also set some cookies to store your login information and screen choices. The login cookies are kept for two days and the screen options cookies are kept for one year. If you select "Remember Me," your login will be saved for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the sign-in cookies are deleted.

When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and only displays the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other Web sites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other Web site.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and track your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we keep your data

When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if applicable), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the personal information we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete your personal data. This does not apply to data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where your data will be sent

Comments from visitors can be monitored by an automated spam detection service.
